ONE MONTH - IDA MARIE

One month?! Time needs to slow down. But then again, it seems like we have had her for forever. I have a book I have been writing I guess you could call them letters to Ida but it is more like a journal. Here are a few of the entries from this past month:

"You hiccup more than any person I have ever known."

"You have a little blister on your lip from when you are inside the womb. You have been sucking your thumb and arm since before you were born. You little weirdo."

"You've only been here two short weeks. You are just like your dad and I love it.. for now."

"Ida bug, I am obsessed with how perfect you are."

"When you are hungry you act like a dog and it makes me laugh."

"Dad sure is gettin wrapped around your finger."

"You are a dang good eater and you have never had any problems with that. It makes my mom heart real happy."

"You and me both are gettin better at this whole night time thing. More you than me."

"You snort like a pig when you breathe. Especially at night. Those dang boogers!"

"You just pooped all over my leg for the third time. But, I could never be mad at you."

"Ida Marie, you are such a strong girl! You hold your head up like a boss."

"You love being outside, I am stoked."

"Your sleepy smiles are my favorite"

"My mom says that I hold you too much but, you are the best cuddler in the world."

"You love the sound of the shower, car, vacuum, washer and dryer."

"Sleeping has got to be your favorite"

"Both your grandmas watch you throughout the week while mom works a couple hours a day. They rock."

"Your hands are ALWAYS clenched in a fist. Doesn't that get just a little tiring?"

"You got blessed by your dad yesterday and your Grandma Felshaw made your blessing dress. The whole day was beautiful, just like you."

 

"It is 1:35 in the morning and I am really tired but you just scream your head off unless you are attached to my boob."

"We showered together for the first time today and you loved it."

"Your pouty face seriously kills me. I love it. I remember you did this face right when you were born. It just makes me smile."

"You make me SO happy just by being you."

"Heaven forbid I put you down and try to look decent for your dad or even get around to brushing my teeth today."

"You've kicked dad outta bed multiple times now. You own the place, girl."

"You stare at the ceiling pretty much the whole time you are awake. I wonder what you see."

"Tummy time is your jam. Mostly because you have lots of gas built up."

"We have already have had so many firsts with you and it is the best!"

There is SO much that has happened in the past month. I want to remember the good and the bad. Being a mom is hard. Emotionally, physically and mentally it just changed me. I would not have it any other way, though. Ida has made me want to be a better person, wife and mom. We love you so much, Ida bug. We can't wait to see what this next month brings.
